Microsoft plans to add the feature folder in the Windows Phone operating system interface. This folder can be used to store application shortcut or other files on the smartphone.
So far, Microsoft chose a different step of the Android OS or iOS Folders feature provides the system user interface. Instead, Microsoft would prefer the interface "Metro-style" in which applications can be freely placed anywhere.
However, it appears that it will change. In a blog post, Microsoft introduced a way how to create folders on the home screen of Windows Phone.

With this folder, Microsoft hopes users can more organize applications they have. For example, users can unify all applications within a single folder games, or for other types of applications. The folder can also be altered name and size, and its location can be moved.
Apparently, this folder will feature Microsoft introduced the latest updates through the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system which will be released in July-August.
According to The Verge (6/29/2014), this time Microsoft has been in the final stages of testing the first update for Windows Phone 8.1 operating system.
Features folder in Windows Phone 8.1 has the same functionality with features that resemble a folder that was brought by Nokia for the Windows Phone 8 operating system early last year.
